Did sony get the rights to metal gear?

Just months after they dug into the coffers to buy Bungie, the studio behind the first Halo games and also Destiny, sources claim that Sony is looking to spend a lot of money again. The latest report comes from Jeff Grub, who explains that Sony’s next buyout is one of the biggest yet. Konami has made it clear that they are taking a break from developing more triple A gaming experiences. Sony plans to acquire another video game studio. Rumor has it that it could be Capcom or Konami.

Although none of the recent rumors have proven to be correct, if true, Sony and Konami could work closely together again if they were true.

Is Konami owned by Sony

Sony and Konami are rumored to have rekindled their working relationship for some time now, with some alleged exclusive titles in tow. All of these rumors should be taken with a grain of salt unless verified, but the sheer volume of rumors could point to something between Sony and Konami. In the United States, Konami manages its video game business from Aviation Blvd, California, and its casino gaming business from Paradise, Nevada. The new leaks suggest that the series of remakes is part of an agreement between Sony and Konami, and if it turns out to be true, the two companies may have restored their previous working relationship.

Metal Gear was largely a PlayStation exclusive franchise (with the exception of the latest games and of course Twin Snakes), but it turned out that didn’t have to be the case. Yesterday, there was an absolute explosion of reports that Konami had “privately acquired the rights to a “very popular Konami IP.” Faced with the reception of Metal Gear Solid 4 on PS3, many wondered why Konami didn’t release the game on Xbox 360, especially since the console was extremely popular. Related Metal Gear Solid news recently revealed that you can no longer buy this iconic stealth series digitally.

Which studio does Sony buy

It feels like a pretty busy, forward-looking time for Sony right now, as these studio acquisitions are a big part of laying the groundwork for that future. CC

That’s not much to do, but it sounds like Haven is working on a live service game that the studio wants to support for many years to come. The move follows the recent acquisitions of Destiny creator Bungie, Demon’s Souls studio Bluepoint Games, Returnal developer Housemarque, PC port specialist Nixxes Software and Firesprite, a UK-based developer founded by former members of SIE Studio Liverpool. It has signed an original multiplayer project from Firewalk, a new studio founded by Bungie veterans, and will release the debut title of Deviation Games, a studio run by former Call of Duty veterans Dave Anthony and Jason Blundell.
